Arriving back at her apartment, Abby sat down at her desk and went through her emails. There were several new client requests for artwork. Knowing what she already had from the Franklin estate, she felt confident that some of the artwork could be placed quickly. Valuation was going to be an issue, though. She was a pretty good value analyst when it came to the paintings, but Lewis Franklin was not well known. Justifying what she felt was right would take some convincing with some of her clients. She pulled out all her notes and uploaded the photos she had taken of everything at the Franklin Estate to her computer. Then, she got to work.

While viewing pictures of the paintings, Abby could see that Mr. Franklin really was good artist. It was a shame that his work never had a chance to be put out to the public. There was beautiful use of colors, textures, and detail. He seemed to like using a darker pallet, and there also seemed to be a common crimson color used throughout of his paintings. There was also a perfectly straight-line detail that Abby had never seen before, and she could not quite place it. Not finding anything in her research to indicate where he studied she was getting the feeling that this artistry came naturally. She could tell by not only reviewing his paintings in person but by taking an up-close look through her software that he mixed his paint heavily. His mixing technique was perfect at creating the illusion of volume in his paintings. Without doing a chemical analysis she couldn’t really tell what properties he put in his paint, but he was very good. Focused so intensely, she barely heard her cellphone ringing.

"Abby Millat," she answered.

"Hello, Abby,” the familiar voice said. “This is Diane from the gallery”

"Oh, hello, Diane” Abby was excited to hear back from her. “How are things going?"

"Very well, thank you. We’ve received delivery of the artwork and have placed it in the main gallery for unpacking and placement”

"Great. I'll be over shortly to start on that," Abby said. "Will there be anyone available to hang?"

"Yes, there will be, and I'll be here, as well, to help”

"Then, I'll see you in a bit”

Abby finished up the valuation and pricing were now finished. Averaging Lewis Franklin's work for most of his pieces was easy, but the Lady in the Mirror was difficult. It was an incomplete painting, which could make it more valuable, but not for a relatively unknown artist. Abby was so taken with this painting that she was going to ask Mr. Tippin if he would allow her to wave her commission in exchange for her keeping it. Looking at her watch, she realized she needed to go. Packing up her bag with all the numbers she just ran and itemized lists she headed to the gallery.
